Sanskrit Self-study
I RECENTLY CAME ACROSS A SITE WHERE A SOFTWARE FOR MULTILINGUAL WORD PROCESSING IS GIVEN FREE: the link is
http://acharya.iitm.ac.in/software/iitmed.php
One very interesting aspect of this they have a site for promoting the self-study of Sanskrit. See the link: http://acharya.iitm.ac.in/sanskrit/tutor.php
I have saved 12 lessons from this site in PDF format and will post them in due course.

Book "review"
Here I wish to introduce the reader to some books I recently read / am reading. It is not a full review. Hence review in quotes.
The one I am now reading is "In search of the cradle of civilization" by George Feurestein, Subhash Kak and David Frawley.
In the preface they say "This is a book about history, not the kind of dull chronology of dynasties and battles ***** but a meaningful history that is deeply relevant to our lives today.
**** We know that entire civilizations have perished, but there always have been survivors to tell the story and resume the human experiment. but this time around we are facing the unbelievable danger of there not being a sigle survivor on this planet. ****** anuclear holocaust or global ecological catastrophe could bring modern civilization perilously close to extinction. This makes it all the more pressing to understand our species' past and benefit from the experience of and hard-won knowledge of our ancestors. while the present day challenge is unique in its magnitude, it involves fundamental matters of living -- particularly in the moral and spiritual realm -- that may well have been better understood by earlier civilizations and cultures.
******
Ancient India, we feel, has much to teach us."
At this stage, a table of contents, I believe will explain the scope of the book much better. So, here it is:
